AFX/Tomy 1/64 scale slot cars. Production hard bodies riding on Mega G SWB chassis. Two lane 36' AFX/Tomy is laid out on a 80 x 36 solid core door table. One (of a possible two) traction magnet upgraded with after market neo unit (two neo gives too much down-force). The wheel/tires have been upgraded with o-ring units up front with silicon tires on stock wheels at the rear. Motors are stock. • Bodies represent cars that competed in the 1966 24h du Mans held June 18th 19th. The red car replecates the 7 liter OHV V8 #3 Ford GT40 Mk II that Dan Gurney and Jerry Grant drove 257 laps (about 17 and 1/2 hours or until about 9:30am Sunday morning the 19th) before retiring with a holed radiator. The white car replecates the 5.4 liter OHV V8 #9 Chaparral-Chevrolet 2D that Phil Hill and Jo Bonnier drove 111 laps (about seven and a half ours or until about 11:30 Saturday evening) before retiring due to an alternator failure.
