AllElectric Passenger Airplane Takes Flight for First Time

An all-electric passenger airplane flew for the first time on September 27. Alice is the world’s first zero-emissions, all-electric passenger plane, developed by the company Eviation. Its commuter prototype, which can hold 9 passengers and 2 pilots, took an 8-minute flight at 3,500 feet in Washington. The planes, which are expected to have a max cruise speed that’s a little less than half that of a Boeing 737, should be able to fly for approx 1 hour across 440 nautical miles.
