As the 50th woman to go to space, Karen Nyberg has had many exciting and life-changing experiences in zero gravity. She rode both the Space Shuttle and a Soyuz into orbit, almost watched her colleague drown during a spacewalk, and had an unexpected, but totally obvious realization as she looked down on her 3-year-old son from the International Space Station. Dr. Karen Nyberg is a mom, artist, and former NASA astronaut. She has spent 180 days living and working in space and, through those experiences, is now committed to bringing attention to the fragility of our planet.
