The Mambo priestess , Cécile Fatiman , proceeds to sacrifice a black pig, and the assistants drink his blood in order to become invulnerable. Boukman then orders the general uprising by bringing together the different African tribes in their quest for freedom, voodoo was a catalyst in the revolt of the slaves of Saint-Domingue. The Bois-Caïman / Bwa Kayiman revolt began with a meeting of runaway slaves on the night ofAugust 14, 1791, considered in Haiti as the founding act of the revolution and the war of independence .
