Casablanca Bel Air 55 Inteli•Touch ceiling fan in brushed nickel, this time shown with a set of high gloss cherrywood blades that I grabbed in a haul of clearance stuff a number of years ago. As mentioned in the original description, this fan was semi-NIB. Some of the packaging is missing, I had to get replacement glass, and there were no blades present. Beyond that I don't think it'd ever been installed before. If you ask me about my favorite Casablanca fans of any era, the Bel Air isn't one that necessarily comes to mind, but any time I put this one up I just love it so, so much. It's got a very grand presence, from an era before ceiling fans were regularly coming in massive sizes above 60 . There are lots of soft lines, a very elegant feel with so much quality in the details. It was also a very early example of the transitional design that defined much of the past decade+. Pretty incredible that it was introduced in the 90s, but really remained relevant and grew into the transitional design period long after. Also worth noting is how the vibe changes with the blade selection. That's kind of the case for any fan with customizable blades, but a design like this truly shows the flexibility. I like the maple blades from the original video just as much, but for different reasons. The maple brings out the laid back and casual feel of the design, while this gloss cherry makes the whole thing feel a bit more upscale and elegant.
