Kilauea Volcano Update A New Eruption is Potentially Imminent

On January 31st, Hawaii's Kilauea volcano had its alert level raised from yellow to orange in response to a very strong series of earthquakes and rapid summit inflation. This new volcanic unrest is the most significant a Hawaiian volcano has seen since October of 2023. It may now only be a matter of time before a potentially imminent eruption occurs at Kilauea, which would mark Hawaii's first volcanic eruption of 2024. • Thumbnail Photo Credit: J.M.
