MMM is and autoimmune disorder where the body attacks the 2M fibers in the jaw muscles. This is very painful and often results, as in Abby's case, in Trismus or lockjaw. Abby cannot open her mouth. Early diagnosis, treatment can stop the progression of the disease. However, there is no garauntee the damage to the muscles will be reversed. In advanced cases scar tissue replaces the muscle tissue and the dog can have impaired function of the jaw for the rest of the dogs life. • It took 5 trips to the Vet and Animal hospital, consultation with a specialist to get a diagnosis. Abby is only 4 years old. This is a rare disease but it can happen to your dog. The vet bills are mounting up and are currently over 3000 dollars just to get the diagnosis. We still have to deal with the treatment costs and further consultations with the specialist. Any help would be appreciated please visit our go fund me page. https://www.gofundme.com/abby039s-vet...
