I'm self taught and I screw up the technical/proper stuff all the time but I appreciate the education I receive from so many of you. So thank you. • Apparently they are called GORE, or GORES for plural or a GORED Skirt for the completed piece!. Some are saying Godets but most are saying Gore. I dunno haha... either way they're an awesome way to add volume to a simple piece! • Today, on the DIY, we're upcycling a men's button-down shirt into a feminine flowy frock dress! I'll be walking you through my take on the iconic Rhode Rainbow Dress (that I've had my eyes on forever). While this dress may look a little intimidating to create, I've got all the tips, tricks, hacks to make this upcycling tutorial as beginner-friendly as possible! All you need is a button-down shirt, some fabric scissors, a little horsehair trim a sewing machine to create this voluptuous, fabulous dress that screams Spring fashion! This technique can also be used on straight dresses if you're not feeling the button-down look.
