“Acts 3:18” • “Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” • • 1. Chapter 1: Praying, waiting, and obeying. • • 2. Chapter 2: The coming of the Holy Spirit and empowerment for evangelism. • • 3. Chapter 3: Miracle healing that leads to a great platform for evangelism. • • 4. Chapter 4: Opposition arises that leads to even a greater platform for evangelism. • • Acts 4:31 • They prayed. • They were all filled with the Holy Spirit. • They spoke the Word of God with boldness. • • Acts 4:32 “Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul.” • • 5. God has a way of providing a platform to advance the Gospel. • Acts 2:14-40(in Jerusalem), 3000 Souls are saved. • Acts 3:11-26, 4:1-4, (at the Temple), 5000 Souls are saved. • Acts 4:5-12(before the Sanhedrin), • • Acts 4:13: “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and unlearned, they marvelled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.” • • 6. When God gives us a platform, we have the opportunity to leverage all of our experience and knowledge to help advance the Gospel of Christ. • • Example: Peter and all of the Apostles(including the Apostle Paul). • • Acts 4:31. “And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.” • • vs 32: “Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one Soul.” • • vs 33:”And with great power the Apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.” • • 7. Great power results in great grace. • • 8. “Acts Formula:” • • Prayer + obedience = power • Power = mission • Mission = Results • Results = opposition • Opposition = More Mission • Byproducts: Unity, power, boldness, advancement of the Gospel, and the salvation and discipleship of more Souls. • • 9. Acts 3:19 “Times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord.” • • Amplified New Testament: • “of recovering from the effects of heat” • “reviving with fresh air.” • • 10. Refreshing comes when we repent of our sins by changing the things we are doing wrong.
