For a full write up on white sapphire vs diamond, go to: https://beyond4cs.com/jewelry-guide/w... • White sapphire is one of the most common diamond simulants in the market as it has a good resemblance to diamond. In nature, white sapphire can be mined but they are generally low in quality and you will commonly get rough gemstones with lots of inclusions in them. • Most of the white sapphire jewelry (also in this ring) are actually mounted with man made stones. These artificially created white sapphires are made in the lab based on different recipes and done on a vast scale. As a result, the cost of a white sapphire is really cheap and you can get loose stones for pennies to the dollar. • In this video, the diamond tester probe is placed carefully onto the white sapphire in order to test for its heat conductivity. Due to its poor thermal conductivity, the light meter of the testing device does not light up fully. This means that the gemstone that had been tested is NOT a diamond. • In the case of a real diamond, the device would light up with a rainbow color and a loud sound will be heard from it. This confirms the presence of a gemstone with high thermal conductivity. • If you are interested in buying the diamond tester I used in this video, head over to the following links: • https://beyond4cs.com/go/amazon-diamo... • https://beyond4cs.com/go/ebay-diamond... • For a more sophisticated tester that can differentiate between more types of gemstones, I recommend the Presidium gemstone tester: • https://beyond4cs.com/go/amazon-presi... • More readings can be found at: • https://beyond4cs.com/faq/how-to-spot... • https://beyond4cs.com/faq/moissanite-... • https://beyond4cs.com/jewelry-guide/b...
