In this video, I attempt to make my childhood pride and joy, the older style Hornby HST (Intercity 125) work again. The motor turned but the train didn't move! My local model shop have taken £25 off of me for two attempts to no avail. I thought this might be of interest... • My HST, called 'Intercity' is from Hornby's 'High Speed Train 125' set, R897. Many people would write it off and get a new one but I just can't do that to my childhood train (the first one I ever asked for). • There will be a part two - I've ordered a brass replacement gear (?) and I'll show you the results of that. • APOLOGIES - Due to my own incompetence, the vast majority of this was recorded on 4:3 Standard Definition.
