Randy Flood, MA, LLP has specialized since 1992 in providing psychological services for individuals and families involved in family courts by providing evaluations, parenting coordination, and parent-child reunification counseling at the Fountain Hill Center in Grand Rapids, particularly when resist and refuse dynamics (RRD’s) are present on the spectrum of parent-child contact problems including cases of parental alienation. • In his work with targeted parents, Randy has identified five common dilemmas and five frequent mistakes they encounter and highlight the challenging, no-win situations targeted parents often find themselves in, where they have no safe spot in communications. This emphasizes the need for strategic, informed responses and, in severe cases, professional and legal intervention. • Common Dilemmas: • Overparenting vs. Underparenting • Co-Parenting Models • Conciliation vs. Litigation • Confronting vs. Ignoring False Narratives • Being Openhearted vs. Defensive • Frequent Mistakes: • Over-disciplining or punishment • Involving extended family or friends to influence the child • Retaliating against the alienating parent • Ignoring court orders for extended parenting time • Displaying anger towards professionals involved in the case • ---------- • The interview was filmed on the location at the 5th PASG (Parental Alienation Study Group) International Conference on Parental Alienation in Fort Collins, Colorado in June 2023. • Other interviews from this conference: • Demosthenes Lorandos - Bridging Science and Law in Family Court:    • Bridging Science and Law in Family Court   • Randy Flood - Five Common Dilemmas - and Mistakes - alienated parents make:    • Five Common Dilemmas - and Mistakes -...   • Catherine MacWillie - Law Enforcement’s Role in Escalating Family Law Disputes:    • Law Enforcement's Role in Escalating ...   • DSM-5 and ICD-11 in Parental Alienation:    • DSM-5 and ICD-11 in Parental Alienation   • Devyn Mullis - Relational Tensions Experienced by Alienated Parents during Reconnection:    • Relational Tensions Experienced by Al...   • Andrew Doyle - Parental Alienation Case Law Analysis…:    • Parental Alienation Case Law Analysis...   • Yvonne Parnell - How the Reunification Program Family Bridges Works:    • Video   • Victoria Flowerday - Reconnecting with Targeted Parent through Family Bridges:    • Reconnecting with Targeted Parent Thr...   • Jason Flowerday - Reconnecting through Reunification - A Father’s Journey:    • Reconnecting through Reunification - ...   • Shawn Wygan - Forensic Evaluations in Parental Alienation Cases:    • Forensic Evaluations in Parental Alie...   • Vesta Spivakovsky - Chandler - Overcoming Parental Alienation - A Journey of Resilience:    • Overcoming Parental Alienation - A Jo...   • John Wehrle - Unravelling the Neuroscientific Underpinnings of Parental Alienation:    • Unravelling the Neuroscientific Under...   • Mark Roseman - Supervised Visitation - a Court Ordered Intervention:    • Supervised Visitation - a Court Order...   • Fatalities in Parental Alienation Cases:    • Fatalities in Parental Alienation Cases   • Misinformation and Science Denial of Parental Alienation Theory:    • Misinformation and Science Denial of ...   • Kevin Hickey - The John Mast Case:    • The John Mast Case   • Heleen Koppejan-Luitze - Researching PA as a Guardian ad Litem in the Netherlands:    • Researching PA as a Guardian ad Litem...   • ------------ • Produced by Equal Parenting Iceland, Foreldrajafnrétti. • All rights reserved • Music: Dream Lagoon by Chris Haugen • NOTE: Inappropriate comments to this video will be deleted.
