Pathe Studio? • • Full title reads: Now Pathe Pictorial presents Stanelli the famous Fiddle Fanatic (of Command Performance fame, etc.) in a duo-novelty. • • Stanelli performs a little comic monologue and pretends his pianist is invisible. This leads to some comic business where Stanelli asks his imaginary pianist questions and a ghost piano plays responses. For example, when Stanelli asks who the pianist was out with the night before, the piano plays a phrase from Sally . • • Stanelli brings a young woman on screen. Enid Darnley (?) - hard to distinguish her name and not listed in paperwork. He invites Enid to sing but she says she can't sing but can tell a story. She begins telling a joke about a commercial traveller. Stanelli decides it is too blue and throws her off stage. • • Stanelli eventually plays the violin. He is accompanied by the ghost piano . The tune he plays may be The Night When Love Was Born . • FILM ID:1612.02 • A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
