TREASURE ISLAND • By Robert Louis Stevenson • Audiobook read by Mark F. His most famous works are Treasure Island, Kidnapped, and Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. • Treasure Island is an adventure novel by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, narrating a tale of buccaneers and buried gold . First published as a book on May 23, 1883, it was originally serialized in the children's magazine Young Folks between 1881-1882 under the title Treasure Island or, the mutiny of the Hispaniola with Stevenson adopting the pseudonym Captain George North. • This is the extraordinary tale of a boy, Jim Hawkins, who comes into possession of Captain Flint's treasure map, after a buccaneer takes a room at his inn and later dies. The map spreads its ill luck to all who know of it. A local squire outfits a ship to voyage to the Treasure Island, unearth the treasure, and bring it home. Little does he suspect that the man he has hired aboard as cook was formerly Flint's quartermaster, who then connives to hire many of his old mates. Once ashore, pirates being pirates, what follows is a mutiny. Jim and a handful of honest men find themselves harried and hunted by the rest of the crew. The pirate treasure, amassed by so much blood and death, is about to reach out and claim more victims. • Index: • 01 - 00:00:00 - Dedication and At the Admiral Benbow • 02 - 00:15:52 - Black Dog Appears and Disappears • 03 - 00:30:52 - The Black Spot • 04 - 00:45:03 - The Sea Chest • 05 - 00:58:45 - The Last of the Blind Man • 06 - 01:10:45 - The Captain's Papers • 07 - 01:24:15 - I Go to Bristol • 08 - 01:36:50 - At the Sign of the Spy-Glass • 09 - 01:48:49 - Powder and Arms • 10 - 02:01:27 - The Voyage • 11 - 02:14:13 - What I Heard in the Apple Barrel • 12 - 02:29:13 - Council of War • 13 - 02:42:01 - How My Shore Adventure Began • 14 - 02:53:51 - The First Blow • 15 - 03:06:20 - The Man of the Island • 16 - 03:21:26 - How the Ship Was Abandoned • 17 - 03:32:00 - The Jolly-Boat's Last Trip • 18 - 03:41:29 - End of the First Day's Fighting • 19 - 03:51:45 - The Garrison in the Stockade • 20 - 04:04:43 - Silver's Embassy • 21 - 04:17:27 - The Attack • 22 - 04:30:44 - How My Sea Adventure Began • 23 - 04:43:57 - The Ebb Tide Runs • 24 - 04:54:24 - The Cruise of the Coracle • 25 - 05:07:26 - I Strike the Jolly Roger • 26 - 05:18:55 - Israel Hands • 27 - 05:38:05 - Pieces of Eight • 28 - 05:51:34 - In the Enemy's Camp • 29 - 06:10:00 - The Black Spot Again • 30 - 06:24:50 - On Parole • 31 - 06:40:29 - The Treasure Hunt - Flint's Pointer • 32 - 06:55:19 - The Voice Among the Trees • 33 - 07:08:53 - The Fall of a Chieftain • 34 - 07:22:03 - And Last • Additional information: • This audiobook is from Librivox.
