How many times a day have you stopped to wonder why palmeros are important. Well, even if you never have...in flamenco, their responsibility is to maintain the rhythm, the compás, which is the basis of all flamenco forms. They have to be able to keep rock bottom perfect rhythm, change speed at a moment's notice when appropriate, and do fancy things with their hands. Pretty cool, in my opinion!
