MCN's Trevor Franklin is running a 2011 KTM 990 SMT ABS as his longterm test bike this year. Here he shares his initial thoughts on the V-twin 'Supermoto Touring' motorcycle, which combines adventure touring usability with supermoto sharp handling and performance. • • The KTM is a completely different take on the adventure bike, contrasting with the BMW R1200GS, with the Austrian off-road firm making fun and performance as much of a priority as comfort and cruising.
