WHAT IS DENDROCHRONOLOGY (Tree Ring Dating) and Applications of Dendrochronology // Dendrochronology, or Tree-Ring Dating, is a method of dating objects that are made of wood by counting the rings of the tree that make up that object. While the number of tree rings provides information about the age of that tree, the shape of the rings provides information about the environmental conditions during the growth of that tree. The applications of dendrochronology vary from climate studies to helping with the radiocarbon dating calibration, to art and archaeology. In cultural heritage, we can use dendrochronology to date heritage objects that are made of wood. • Subscribe to my newsletter and get updates on my upcoming Sci-Fi Fantasy novels, my creative journey, updates on new Wonders of Heritage videos: https://www.mariabaias.com/newsletter • Blog post explaining dendrochronology: https://www.mariabaias.com/post/dendr... • Blog: https://www.mariabaias.com/blog • What is cultural heritage: • WHAT IS CULTURAL HERITAGE?
