Join Kew Horticulturist, Richard Moore on a walk around the Waterlily House at Kew Gardens! When it was built in 1852 this beautiful glasshouse was the widest single-span glasshouse in the world, built specially to house the giant waterlily, Victoria amazonica. This glasshouse houses a wonderful collection of tropical aquatic plants from around the world such as the iconic Lotus, Papyrus, and of course Waterlilies such as the incredible Santa Cruz waterlily all cared for and maintained by Solène Dequiret and the Palm House team. • Kew Gardens is a world famous Botanical Garden and one of the largest in the world with a collection of over 50,000 plants. As well as being one of the most beautiful ornamental gardens in the world the plant collections at Kew provide an invaluable resource for scientific research and along with the Millennium Seed Bank, Kew is working to conserve endangered and threatened plant species from around the world. • Instagram: / the_botanical_gardener • Twitter: / garden_botanics • Music: Eureka by Huma-Huma
