https://www.abc-mallorca.com/la-lonja... • The area known as La Lonja in the old town of Palma is the perfect place to go after dark, with a great selection of restaurants, bars and clubs. For a great night out, visit La Lonja. • La Lonja in Palma is the former maritime trade exchange, which gave its name to the surrounding area. The stone used to build it came from Santanyí – no easy feat back in the mid-15th century. • Today, when darkness descends and this area comes to life, the superbly illuminated Catalan Gothic architectural classic is somewhat upstaged by the mind-blowing choice of places to eat and drink. A sculpture of the Guardian Angel of Commerce stands above the mighty portals of the landmark La Lonja building. It’s a reminder that centuries later, this atmospheric quarter is still an important one for business. The business of eating and drinking. • If this area represents the heart of Palma’s nightlife, Apuntadores is its main artery: as soon as you enter the narrow thoroughfare, you’re bombarded with businesses vying for your attention. It’s tempting to turn left at the Jazz Voyeur Club into C/San Juan, where more eateries beckon, but continue along Apuntadores and you’ll come to Ribello – an Italian restaurant, which is a very popular spot. • Other notable La Lonja hotspots include Hotel Tres, included in the 101 Best Boutique and Finca Hotels by abcMallorca, and Abaco Cocktail Bar. This over-the-top bar in an old mansion is a must-visit for many visitors, despite the fact that it’s expensive and a bit cheesy . . . but it should probably be experienced once. • Credits: • An abcMallorca Production Video – Giving you the best experience of Mallorca • Photographer: Sara Savage • Video: Jonatan Barzola
