WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange cannot be extradited to the United States on espionage charges unless the country can provide assurances regarding his safety. • The ruling, delivered by a British court today, means Assange will remain in London's Belmarsh Prison as his legal saga over releasing classified US military documents continues. • Two High Court judges agreed to grant Assange a new appeal should the US not confirm their plans to assure his well-being within three weeks.
