Castle Lake is a small, gorgeous lake up in Northern California near the town of Mt. Shasta. This lake features super clear water and some feisty, but small Rainbow Trout, as well as a few Brook Trout. Castle Lake is perfect for Kayak Fishing as most boats with motors will have a difficult time negotiating the boat ramp . • I set out to fish this lake on Labor Day weekend and when I initially arrived it was packed with swimmers, hikers, paddleboarders, and picnickers.
