Multiple Phoenix Firefighters Injured In Crash With DUI Driver

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 12-31-2023 | 12:55 AM • LOCATION: 75th Ave Thomas Rd • AREA/CITY: Phoenix • DETAILS: • Just before 1:00am this morning near 75th Ave and Thomas a Phoenix Fire Department apparatus was involved in a serious motor vehicle collision with a single vehicle. All five firefighters from the fire department apparatus, as well as the one additional patient from the other involved vehicle, were able to self extricate. All six patients were transported to local hospitals in serious but stable condition. Phoenix PD will be handling the investigation for this incident. • Per Phoenix Police on scene: The adult male driver of the SUV is under arrest for suspicion of DUI after preliminary field sobriety tests were performed on scene.
