In this video I explain what are currently considered safe sunscreen ingredients as well as the sunscreen ingredients you want to avoid. The FDA recently updated their guidelines regarding sunscreen and determined that mineral sunscreens (Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide) are the only safe options at this time. Chemical sunscreens readily absorb in the skin and there is concern for endocrine disruption and cancer, therefore more research is needed before chemical sunscreen ingredients can be determined as safe for use. In this video, I also review several sunscreen labels, both mineral and chemical, and show you what to look for in the active ingredients when you are purchasing sunscreen.
