Akane-chan is an anime series based on the 60s shoujo manga Misokkasu by Chiba Tetsuya (Known for his popular series Ashita no Jo) roughly translated as Freckles in English. It's about a countryside girl named Akane who has to separate ways from her caretaker named Sochi who has left Akane to his brother to take care of Akane while he strives to become an artist. In this anime, you see a girl living her life and going to school whom she meets a friend named Hidebaro.
