Grandmas Thanksgiving bread stuffing

This bread stuffing originated from my husbands grandmother. Over the past 20 years it's been changed a lot by me • Ingredients: • 1 loaf of bread, (20 pieces used) • 1 stick of salted butter • Half a good size yellow onion, diced • 3 ribs of celery, chopped • 3 cloves garlic • 3/4th teaspoon dried Italian season • one quart of turkey broth • 1 and 1/2 teaspoon poultry season • Directions: • First toast your bread, in toaster or can be done in an oven. dark is good, do not burn the bread. You want to make sure bread is very dry. • In a good size skillet/pan melt one stick of butter • ad onion and celery and low simmer until onions start turning clear • stir periodically • once onions are clear ad garlic, still ad turkey or chicken broth. which ever you prefer • simmer on low until celery is tender • While your celery and onions are simmering on low, cut up your bread and put in large mixing bowl, Once celery is tender, turn off stove and pour your butter/stock mixture into the bowl with bread, quick stir and fold the liquid to coat bread, take a towel and place over the bowl to steam the bread 5 min. • Take the towel off ad poultry season stir/fold again.
