Ancient Kata is an exploration of kata (or form) from the style of karate known as Goju-ryu (specifically, Shorei-kan) . The movements reflect two katas in particular: Seiunchin (classical kata) and Gekisai dai ichi. The music was created to reflect the motion of each kata and to give a sense of both the graceful movements and explosion of power that is inherent in the Shoreikan style.
