The Atera STRADA DL is one of our five Hall of Fame all time outstanding products. • Click here http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbve... for more details. • This video shows a detailed, comprehensive guide on how to fit all three bikes to the STRADA DL and is to be used in conjunction with and not in place of the instructions provided with the carrier. • Loosen each wheel holder approximately 2 turns and slide in towards the centre of the carrier. • Release each ratchet strap and clip into the slot provided. • This will make fitting the bikes easier. • Loosen all three bike arms and unlock and release the ratchet straps on the smallest arm. • These arms can move anywhere on the upright frame. Note that they don’t come undone so don’t worry, your bikes are secure, although common sense prevails when leaving your bike unattended. • Set the middle and large bike arms in a position to go through the first bikes frame. • Load the heaviest bike onto the carrier with the gears and derailleur facing the car. • If your handlebars are particularly wide you may need to turn them 90 degrees. • Attach the smallest bike arm to the most accessible part of the bikes frame which doesn’t always have to be the cross bar, and tighten using the ratchet, locking when you’ve finished. • If you’ve got a carbon frame we would recommend attaching the arm to the seat post or handle bars, instead of the frame. • The rubber padding protects both contact points on the bike frame. • Now slide both wheel holders flush against each tyre and tighten in place. • Attach the wheel straps over each wheel and use the ratchet to secure each wheel. • Both ratchet handles should sit facing up when tightened. • You might consider lowering the seat post before loading the next bike. • Set the longest bike arm as low as you can and unlock and release the ratchet strap on the medium bike arm. • Load the 2nd bike in the opposite direction to the first bike. • Attach the medium bike arm to the most accessible part of the bikes frame and tighten with the ratchet, locking when you’ve finished. • Slide both wheel holders into position and tighten in place. Then attach both wheel straps and secure using the ratchet. • If fitting a child’s bike we recommend removing any stabilisers that are fitted. • Unlock and release the ratchet strap on the longest bike arm. • This arm is designed to flex at the joint, allowing it to pivot to accommodate fitting through the other bike frames. • Load the 3rd bike in the opposite direction to the second bike. • Attach the longest bike arm to the most accessible part of the bikes frame. • Once in position, tighten using the ratchet and lock when you’ve finished. • In certain light the third arm can look discoloured but rest assured that this is perfectly normal when bending aluminium. • Secure each wheel by using the ratchet straps. • It makes sense when using a tow ball carrier to place a safety strap around all the bikes and the bike holder support frame. We're therefore providing a free strap with each carrier. • To see the other key stages of using the Atera STRADA DL, click on any of these links, and don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date with all our latest releases.
