This is the Cowcumbla St level crossing at Cootamundra NSW, Australia. It is located on the ARTC main line between Sydney and Melbourne. • Some time around early 2022 the Western Cullen Hayes mechanical bell on the western signal had died, leaving the eastern teardrop as the sole working bell, with the crossing being silent after the gates had lowered. The WC Hayes bell can be heard working in my original video from December 2016 • Level Crossing, Cootamundra NSW, Aust... • In March 2023 the dead bell was replaced by a new Siemens electronic bell which sounds for the whole activation just like it's predecessor. This video begins with footage from 2022 showing the dead bell and finishes up by showing the new bell in action. • Train information: • 1st train: 3968 Qube grain service with locomotives CF4405 and CF4403. Filmed on June 25, 2022. • 2nd train: ST23 XPT service from Sydney to Melbourne. Filmed on November 28, 2022. • 3rd train: D344 SSR locomotive 4904 proceeding light engine from Junee to Cootamundra. Filmed on March 30, 2023. • 4th and 5th trains: 5WM7 Qube steel service from Port Kembla to Melbourne, with locomotives QL011, QL001 and QL010, shortly followed by 6MW7 Qube empty steel service returning to Port Kembla from Melbourne, with locomotives QL002, QL003 and QL012. Filmed on March 31, 2023.
