Bring the classic N64 game into the 21st century with mouse and keyboard controls! Also works with Perfect Dark! • But does it really work with Perfect Dark? And should you even play it with mouse and keyboard in the first place? All questions will be answered in this tutorial. • 0:16 Tutorial Start • 2:47 Perfect Dark Let’s Play (SPOILER: it doesn’t work, as I didn’t have the USA ROM) • 3:44 Goldeneye Let’s Play (SPOILER: it works, but the performance is crap and game is easy) • 12:48 Summary - should you play Goldeneye with mouse and keyboard? • WHAT YOU NEED: • 1) The link I originally had is oudated, but a new bundle by Graslu is available here: https://github.com/Graslu/1964GEPD/re... • Steps to install are here: / goldeneye_and_perfect_dark_updated_setup • Or in video form: • GoldenEye and Perfect Dark PC (1964 G... • 2) GoldenEye or Perfect Dark roms. I cannot help you here, OK (google)? • Here is a great resource (a Youtube tutorial) which goes through most of the same information, PLUS shows you how to add the games to your Steam list. • • GoldenEye and Perfect Dark @60FPS wit... • Here is a Reddit tutorial which also outlines all the 1964 plugin settings in one place: • https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.redd... • SO WHATSTICLES? • I will still not use the 1964 emulator in future, but if you are still keen, there are ways to fix some of the issues I experienced in this tutorial: ( / ): • If for some reason your window doesn't properly scale when going fullscreen, try to right click on 1964.exe - Properties - Compatibility - and enable Disable display scaling on high DPI settings . • If you're getting bad performance you may not meet the requirements to run GE and PD at 60FPS with the plugins recommended above. Try lowering your overclock settings, and if that still doesn't help, switch to Jabo's video plugin. You'll be unable to see a lot of effects in PD but the performance gain is noticeable. • Mouse or keyboard inputs not detected: Go into Plugins - Input Settings and click on Detect devices . Press a mouse button, then a keyboard key and it should be assigned properly
