What exactly is a microcell? Is there a difference between a microcell, network extender and a femtocell? How do I setup a microcell? We'll answer all of these questions and many more in this video. • First, what exactly is a microcell? You can think of it like a mini cell tower that you install in your house. Each of the major carriers, Verizon, AT T, T-Mobile, Sprint all offer a different version of a microcell, some call it a network extender while others call it a femtocell. It's all the same thing. One thing to note however is that each microcell is specific to that carrier. So a sprint microcell won't work for verizon or AT T and so on. • Why would you need a microcell? There are many reasons. But you'd want to get a microcell because you have poor or no cell signal at your home. • How do you install a microcell? It's easy, we walk you through the whole process of installing a microcell and cover some important troubleshooting tips to save you a lot of time and frustration. We use the Samsung SCS-2U01 Network Extender from Verizon for our example but the process will be the same with any microcell. • We also cover some different options for creating great cell signal in your home. We'll go over cell phone signal boosters and show the different options there.
