In this video I show you the easy method of throwing a small cast net. This is also the fastest way to catching bait with a four, five or six foot net. You can literally launch a cast in less than five seconds. • I prefer to use a 1/4 mesh webbed net for catching small bait fish that are about three to four inches long. In the S. W. Florida area we use these baits for catching snook, trout, reds, grouper, jack crevalle and mangrove snapper. I find that the smaller mesh net keeps the bait fish from getting their gill covers logged in the webbing. There's nothing more frustrating than making the perfect throw and then having fifty small fish stuck in the net. • Net Used In This Video: • 1/4 Mesh Nylon Cast Net • http://amzn.to/2ze2sdi • I've watched a lot of video tutorials demonstrating how to throw small cast nets. I've not seen one that demonstrates my quick and easy method for launching the perfect circle. That's why I decided to make this how to video. • The best advice I can give you is practice a lot before you go out to catch bait. It's better to learn the ropes in the yard, preferable in the grass where there are no sticks. You can also practice throwing the net on a shell driveway, in a pool or any where that you won't get debris caught in your cast net. • In this video I'm using a 5' net, but the method works with a 4' and 6' as well. This is by far the simplest method for throwing a castnet.
