Crispy and Juicy Chicken Thighs 🍗 • Episode 10: The Perfect Chicken Thigh • Sharing a chicken recipe that shows my favorite technique for juicy chicken with perfectly crispy skin. This method starts with a cold pan and allows the fat to render out. This also removes the need for any cooking oil. I keep the seasoning simple to highlight the skin and method alone, but feel free to make it your own. Chicken is fully cooked once it reaches 165F, but I’m learning that thighs do well and break down better at a higher temp. Enjoy! • Ingredients: • -chicken thighs, bone in and skin on • -salt • -pepper • Instructions: • -carefully separate the bones from the chicken thighs and thin out the thicker portion of the thigh • -dry both sides of the thigh with a paper towel • -season the meat-side with salt and pepper • -flip over and season the skin-side with salt alone • -rest for 5 minutes to draw out more moisture • -pat the skin dry with a paper towel • -place the chicken skin-side down into a cold cast iron or stainless steel pan; press them down flat • -turn the heat on to medium and allow the fat to slowly render out over the next 10-15 minutes as the skin begins to crisp up • -after the skin is crispy and the meat is white up the sides, flip the chicken over and cook for another 2-3 minutes until internal temp is 180F • -remove the chicken from the heat and allow to rest for 10 minutes • #chicken #chickenrecipes #chickendinner #easyrecipes #tender #juicychicken #lunch #dinner #mealprep #easydinner #dinnerideas #pansear #castiron #recipeoftheday #quickmeals #simplerecipes #flavor #weeknightdinner #homechef #food #foodie #cooking #cookingtips
