Machine Flips a Coin 10000 Times

This project was inspired by a mention of Matt Parker's coin flipping obsession on Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project (   • Mark Rober, Friend of Science - Still...  . It sounded like a fun challenge and I couldn't help but try it out. • From start to finish, 10,040 flips took 6 hours and 15 minutes which averages to 2.15 seconds per flip. At this rate, 100,000 flips would take nearly 2.5 days! This machine makes a lot of noise so I won't be trying that anytime soon without being able to flip 10X faster. One thing not mentioned in the video is that the coin did escape around 10 times (wasn't keeping exact track) and caused a bit of delay until I could toss it back in. • Final results are shown at the end of the video. • Heads: 4950 (49.3%) • Tails: 5090 (50.7%)
