UKRINERC FCDO and Defra host the International Environment and Climate symposium in Nairobi

In September, the International Environment and Climate Research Symposium brought together 84 practitioners, researchers, and representatives of indigenous peoples’ organisations from three of the United Kingdom’s largest environment and climate research programmes. • Grant holders from NERC’s ‘Equitable nature-based climate resilience in Sub-Saharan Africa’ programme joined representatives from the FCDO-led ‘Reversing Environmental Degradation in Africa and Asia’ (REDAA), and Defra-led ‘Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate’ (GCBC) programmes. • Participants exchanged practical ideas, concrete solutions and lived experiences to turn research and knowledge into impact, and discussed the potential for ongoing learning exchange, as well as opportunities and pathways for knowledge sharing. • We are UK Research and Innovation, the UK's largest public funder of research and innovation.
