That really depends on what you intend to use it for. The M18 has a 3.9-inch barrel, shortening the overall length to 7.2 inches, compared to the M17's 4.7-inch barrel that brings overall length to 8 inches. The extra material also increases unloaded weight from 28.1 oz to 29.6 oz. • The M17 is slightly bigger and heavier than the M18, which would seem to favor the smaller gun in deciding between the Sig M17 vs M18 for a carry gun.
