The Median Nerve travels down the arm and passes through the carpal tunnel at the wrist. • Did you know that nerves are able to be stretched to improve tightness or tension? This type of stretching is often called nerve flossing. One of the key points is that tension is only held in the stretch for a couple seconds, not a long hold like when stretching a muscle. • In this video we demonstrate what a physical therapist would recommend to improve neural tension in the median nerve. • Symptoms associated with carpal tunnel are numbness/tingling, also called paresthesia in the median nerve distribution in the hand, which is the thumb, index and middle fingers. • If you have questions about nerve tension or flossing or carpal tunnel please drop them in the comments.
