We can think about C minor as C major with a lowered third note, a lowered sixth note and a lowered seventh note. But, a lot of this can be confusing when we are trying to play music. Instead, I'd like to think about it as an E flat major skill starting on the sixth note C. So, lets refresh ourselves on the E flat major skill. E flat is the first fret on the D string. Now F. Open G. A flat on the first fret. B flat. C at the fifth fret. D at the seventh fret. E flat at the eighth fret. If you go back to our sixth note, we get a C. Now we can play the C minor scale using those same notes. C, B flat, A flat, G, F, E flat, D, back to C. This is what the C minor scale sounds like.
