Free Radical Formation

Before we go into detail, let's take a graphic look at the broad concept of oxidative balance. • First, let's zoom in to see what's going on inside this cow at the sub-cellular level. • We can see there are a variety of biological processes. And each process is performing a specific job. Some are responsible for turning amino acids into proteins. Others are responsible for converting fat into energy. And others still are responsible for defending the body against foreign invaders, or repairing DNA that have been damaged by sub-cellular challenges. • Free radicals are constantly being formed by all cells during normal metabolism — for instance, during the process of converting sugar to cellular energy. This creates an enormous amount of reactive oxygen species. • Free radicals are also used by phagocytic cells to kill bacteria during infections. As metabolic processes work harder, more and more free radicals are generated. • As we see here, the free radicals are exceeding the body's ability to neutralize and eliminate them. And the result is a state of oxidative imbalance. • Share, Like, Comment and Subscribe if you enjoyed this video! • Find Novus ONLINE - • Website: http://www.novusint.com • Connect with us on SOCIAL MEDIA to join the conversation on #SolutionsServiceSustainability • LinkedIn: / novus • Novus LinkedIn Group Animal Health Through Nutrition: http://bit.ly/AnimalHealthThroughNutr... • Twitter: / novusint • Facebook: / novusint • You Tube: / novusinternational • Google+: https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/1041925... • Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/novusint • Send Novus an INQUIRY - http://www.novusint.com/Contact
