This is NOT the Peter Auty version. This is the version I saw on TV in Australia in the 80's. The beautiful orchestral music accompanying the flying sequence has no boy soprano; instead the melody is carried by (I think) a solo bassoon. Apologies for the audio quality - my old VHS copy looks and sounds like a 16mm film transfer. I post it as a curio and to perhaps reassure others that yes, there really WAS a fully instrumental version - you didn't just dream it! • Skip to 15:50 for the start of the flying sequence. • And thank you forever Howard Blake for this immortal music.
