Elemental Absorption will occur when the Traveler's skill comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro. • The element that the Traveler is affected with can also be used for absorption. • This means that the Traveler can affect him/herself with elements to create Element-Infused Swirls, without needing the enemy to be affected by elemental statuses. • Reference (see Palm Vortex/Notes): https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wik... • Updates: Upon new characters' release in new version updates, new characters can also perform Elemental Absorption without presence of enemies, like how the Traveler did in this video. The versions of the update, the characters and dates are as follows: • 1. Kazuha, version 1.6 (29 June 2021) • 2. Sayu, version 2.0 (10 August 2021) • About Venti, Sucrose and Lynette: Their bursts can perform Elemental Absorption. However, the element they are affected cannot be used for absorption directly. The element have to contact with the burst first to let elemental absorption to occur. • If they cast their burst at an empty area and abandon it, Elemental Absorption won't occur because there are no elements contact with the burst. • About Lan Yan: Elemental Absorption via her elemental skill/passive only occurs if she hits a target affected by Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro. Although she was affected by aformentioned elements, Elemental Absorption will not occur if her elemental skill doesn't hit a target affected by aformentioned elements. • About Jean: Elemental Absorption does not occur in her burst. Her burst imbues characters with Anemo. This is considered as self-swirl but not Elemental Absorption. • About Wanderer: Although he can absorb Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro elements via his Ascension 1 passive Jade-Claimed Flower after contact with the elements, it is not considered as Elemental Absorption. • Xiao, Shikanoin Heizou, Faruzan and Xianyun cannot perform Elemental Absorption.
