5 Steps To FIX Windows 11 • Today we take a look at fixing Windows 11 file system errors, this also works on Windows 10. These 5 simple tests will help fix BSOD and any hard disk errors you maybe getting. • Step 1 • Checking the system memory for errors. • Open search and type Windows Memory Diagnostic, • Click Restart now and check for problems. At Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool, Press F1. • Choose Extended, use TAB key to navigate and select Pass Count, Type 15 and then click F10 to start. • Step 2 • Check the S.M.A.R.T. of the Hard Drive or SSD. This will tell you if the drive is in good health. Open PowerShell as Administrator. • Type or copy-paste the following command: Get-WmiObject -namespace root\\wmi -class MSStorageDriver_FailurePredictStatus. • You can also use software called CrystalDiskInfo • Step 3 • Check the disk drive for any file system errors and bad sectors. • Open Search and Type CMD, right click Command Prompt and run as administrator, • Type the following command chkdsk c: /f /r and press Enter. The PC will need to be restarted to start the checking process. Rememember to change C: for the drive you want to scan. Also chkdsk /? will give you access to all the different switchs for chkdsk command. • Step 4 • System File Checker Utility • Open Search and Type CMD, right click Command Prompt and run as administrator, in the command prompt window, type SFC /scannow and press Enter . System file checker utility checks the integrity of Windows system files and repairs them if required. • Step 5 • Check and Repair Windows Image • If Windows system files are corrupted we can try and repair the Windows Image with this commands. • Type: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and press Enter. • Scan's the image to check for corruption. • Type: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and press Enter. • Check the image to see whether any corruption has been detected. • Type: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press Enter. • Use the /RestoreHealth argument to repair the image. For example, to repair an offline image using a mounted image as a repair source, at a command prompt, type the following command: • Dism /Image:C:\\offline /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:c:\\test\\mount\\windows • Or to repair an online image using some of your own sources instead of Windows Update, type: • Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:c:\\test\\mount\\windows /LimitAccess • If you do not specify a /Source for the repair files, the default location for Features on Demand is used. For more information, see Configure a Windows Repair Source. If you specify more than one /Source, the files are copied from the first location where they are found and the rest of the locations are ignored.
