The water is really shallow, there are loads of bars and shops and restaurants right alongside the beach. - Yeah, and next to the beach is the harbour, which is very very pretty… • We’re here at the harbour and it’s all a bit more upmarket around here. You’ve got the stunning yachts and the big boats all on this side of you and the quite posh, slightly more upmarket restaurants over on this side. • I don’t know if this is too far but it feels a little bit like Cannes, south of France. • But not all of Alcudia is tourist-heavy. Actually, our favourite part was the old town, which is surrounded by a medieval wall. - Yep, it’s a little bit inland so maybe a taxi journey or a bus ride away. You can even get a tourist bus that will take you there. This medieval wall is really cool, you can actually take the steps up to the top and walk around nearly the whole of the city. • So this is the old town but it looks like it’s been renovated quite recently. It’s immaculately clean and it just has all these little boutiques selling local goods, a few souvenirs, hand-made crafts… You can buy your very own cushion with somebody who looks like they may have colonised the island at one point. • We did explore some Roman ruins, which are just outside the city wall. Now, back in the Roman period, this was one of the most important towns of the Balearics, because of its position between Alcudia and Pollensa. • It cost us €3 to get in. It felt kind of cool to be exploring a Roman excavation site. • So that’s Alcudia. We liked it because it was a really good mix between touristy stuff as well as the historical side of things, so it meant that you could tick off both boxes in a week’s holiday and really enjoy yourself. • But if Alcudia’s not your thing, check out our video on Palma. It’s the island’s capital and we also loved it. Yeah, really loved that one. • Thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe! Bye!
