Today we will show you the simple process of how to light a pilot in a gas fireplace. Shutting off your gas pilot in your gas fireplace during the summer is a simple energy saving tip. However, when winter comes back around you’ll want to use your fireplace! • You can re-light your gas pilot light in just a few easy steps: • Gain access your the lower section of your gas fireplace by removing the lower grate • Turn the main gas lever to the “ON” position • Turn the gas switch from “OFF” to the “PILOT” position • Push in on the gas switch and simultaneously push the spark ignitor until you see a flame in the fireplace • Keep pressing the gas pilot for several seconds so that the pilot sensor gets hot enough to keep gas flowing • Move the gas switch to the “ON” position and if the flame stays lit, you’re good to go • This House In Progress video will walk you through all of the steps visually so that you can easily light the pilot in your own gas fireplace at home. • Music: http://bensound.com
