It will help your lotion apply evenly. • • 2. To Moisturize or Not To Moisturize? - Don't moisturize your body before applying tanning lotion. Your lotion won't absorb nearly as well, so make sure you skip the lotion if you're planning on self tanning. I do, however, moisturize my face before applying self tanner to my face! I also apply lotion to my elbows, toes and heels to make sure the tanner doesn't get too dark in those dry areas. I love using Honest lotion, it's my favorite. • • 3. Dry Your Skin - After showering, make sure you wait a bit before applying any self tanner. You want your skin to be completely dry before starting! • • 4. Use a Tanning Mitt - ALWAYS, always, always use a tanning mitt! A tanning mitt is so vital for a few reasons. If you don't use a mitt, your hand will get super orange, and nobody needs that! It will also make your tanning lotion blend 100x better and keep you from getting any streaks. • • 5.
