In this video we will explore the ideas of Lucius Seneca and how he interpreted the philosophy of Stoicism. One key area that we will focus on will be how Seneca viewed death or the concept 'Momento Mori' which in Latin translated into remember you must die . • In AD 41, Seneca was exiled to the island of Corsica under emperor Claudius, but was allowed to return in 49AD to become a tutor to Nero. When Nero became emperor in 54, Seneca became his advisor and helped to provide competent government for the first five years of Nero's reign.
