By homemademodern • • Building an Outdoor Pull-Up Bar | DIY... • • THE FLANGES: • The flangs and pipe are threaded. • 1. Put the flange in a vice and forced the pipe on the non lip side. (backwards). Leave the flang on the bar. You can tack weld if desired. • 2. Force the other flange on (backwards), then remove flange. this will help screwing it on later • OR • If you you can't screw the flang on backwards it will screw on the correct way (lip side in). • Sink a slightly wider hole to accommodate the lip (1/4 inch) in the wood.
