Who is Saint Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc)? • Saint Joan of Arc is an extraordinary Saint of the Roman Catholic church. • This young French woman, still a teenager, led armies against the English occupiers in medieval France. Guided by God's word via angelic messengers, Joan followed her heart and convinced the powers that be in her native France to let her lead the French army against the invaders. Joan was eventually captured, held in a prison in chains, and then found guilty of heresy and burned at the stake.
