The 2018 Milwaukee M18 Fuel 7-1/4 Circular Saw 2732-21HD Gen 2 model was just released and I found it to be a very powerful cordless circ saw, but how powerful is it? Only one way to find out - which is to put it against it's cordless competition such as the Makita X2 36V 7-1/4 Rear Handle Circular Saw XSR01z which is already a confirmed beast. • Both saws are using the same exact Avanti Pro 24T framing blade (new) and making a cut into 5 pieces of stacked OSB glued together as a single piece 2-1/4 thick. The cut length measures 24 inches across. The Milwaukee is using the new included HD 12.0 ah battery and the Makita is using a pair of 6.0 ah batteries (the largest 18V batteries Makita had at the time of this video). • While the Milwaukee is using an 18V 12ah battery and the Makita is using two 6ah batteries, some might think this test is unfair. I could also say that comparing an 18V tool against a 36V tool is unfair however these are very much comparable because they are both marketed as having the performance of a corded circular saw. Also one 12.0ah 18V battery has the same watt hour capacity as two 18V 6.0ah batteries, as both have exactly 216 watt hours of capacity. • Test data: I made several test cuts with each saw as fast as I could push it WITHOUT overloading the motor and provided only the fastest cut in the video for each saw. Each saw is different and if I pushed any harder on each saw, it would overload and stop cutting. For those of you thinking I could have pushed either saw harder and it would cut faster, that is wrong because I did in separate tests and pushing harder on either saw would cause it to stall because of overload protection. • Also included in the video comparison are the brushed motor Makita X2 7-1/4 circular saw XSH01z with the same blade (new) and paired with a pair of 6.0 ah batteries. And also included the original Milwaukee M18 Fuel 7-1/4 circular saw 2731-20 and tested with the 12.0 ah battery for the sake of consistency. Keep in mind this saw does not come bundled with this size battery. • At the end of the video I tested the new 2018 Milwaukee M18 Fuel 7-1/4 circular saw Gen 2 with the 12.0ah battery and a 5.0 ah battery to see if the saw produces the same performance with smaller batteries. • For the full review, check out the Tool Craze website: www.toolcraze.net • To purchase any of the above saws, click here: http://shrsl.com/14n7g • Tool Craze is an Home Depot affiliate, AcmeTools affiliate, OhioPowerTool affiliate and Amazon Associate and places paid links including those from other retailers Tool Craze is an affiliate partner with.
