17yo Cesare Mencarini creates Nuclear Fusion Reactor for ALevel project

This is what the world needs more of! • Here is the link to Cesare's full project; • / urn:li:activity:7232081906069082113 • I was intending to make a video documenting Cesare's work and what he achieved, so I asked him for a 10 minute call, we ended up speaking for an hour so I think it's best to post the whole conversation. • Cesare 3D printed and machine spun stainless steal parts to create a Fusor, vacuum chamber which he fed Hydrogen isotopes into a linear confinement chamber to successfully produce plasma! • Confinement chambers (IECFs) are not meant to ignite a fusion reaction, but they should create plasma at lower temperatures with the aim of creating fusion. Cesare used D-D instead of D-T isotopes which I expected from this setup. • Hydrogen is more readily available for Fusion and you can make deuterium from water. Tritium is much more difficult. • We also discussed Fission and many other topics. The overwhelming part for me is that Cesare is 17yo and if you take all the elements here, this guy for me is a young Michio Kaku- who created a particle accelerator for his school project. • If of interest I will make a shorter video looking at the schematics. I've read the project thesis and watched the videos, and I am in ore at Cesare's all-round knowledge and still can't believe he is 17.
