A school of tadpoles swimming in shallow water at the edge of a rice paddy. The large ones are larvae of the dark-spotted frog (aka black-spotted pond frog, and black-spotted frog; Pelophylax nigromaculatus, family Ranidae) and the small fewer ones are larvae of the Japanese tree frog (Hyla japonica, family Hylidae).
